When the long dead lady Amelia shows herself to her great-great-grandson, Jack Graystone knows he is on the way to perdition. The ghost prompts Jack to leave his warm bed and go searching for something, but he doesn't know what.

What he finds is Irish immigrant Moira O'Toole when he runs her down with his carriage. Jack takes Moira home to recuperate and soon realizes that when she has recovered, Moira will be a great beauty.

Prodded by his best friend Spencer, Jack convinces Moira to masquerade as his ward to find a rich husband. Their prank is a success. Several men offer for Moira, yet instead of being pleased, Jack is unreasonably jealous. But Moira is already in love with him and becomes his willing lover.

Lies and misunderstandings drive Moira and Jack apart. However, once dark secrets are revealed and enemies from the past exposed, they are plunged into new dangers. Lady Amelia's intervention and the power of their love wrest Moira and Jack from jeopardy.

PURE TEMPTATION is a pure delight. This lively ghost tale is a departure for Ms. Mason and one readers will adore. This lively, action-filled tale bubbles over with memorable characters and delicious sensuality. VERY SENSUAL (July, 431 pp., $5.99)
