THE PURSUIT OF JESSE

THE PURSUIT OF JESSE (4) by Helen Brenna: Newly released from jail, Jesse Taylor is staying with his brother until he can save enough money to move south. He rethinks this plan when he meets wedding planner and florist Sarah Marshik and her young son, Brian. Hired to work on Sarah’s house, Jesse grows too close to the single mother and her son for his own comfort. As always, Brenna’s dialogue sparkles, and the sexual tension between Jesse and Sarah is very well drawn. This is a nice story about the power of second chances and learning to take responsibility for one’s actions.

I can't get enough of Mirabelle Island

I've read every one of Helen Brenna's "An Island to Remember" Series. The stories all take place in Northern Wisconsin, on fictional Mirabelle Island. The secluded small-town, with its close-knit community, is such a dreamy place for a perfect romance. In The Pursuit of Jesse, the town's people distrust Jesse. He just sticks to himself, using humor to deflect the dirty looks. And Sarah distrusts herself! She won't let anyone or anything steer her from having a career and raising her son. I love Brenna's Mirabelle Island series. I can't wait to read the next books!
