RAMONA AND THE RENEGADE (3) by Marie Ferrarella: Veterinarian Ramona Santiago heads home for her brother’s wedding. When her car breaks down, she’s rescued by a childhood friend, deputy Joe Lone Wolf. Joe has loved Mona most of his life, but she keeps people at a distance. Dealing with her changing relationship with her brother, her estranged mother’s reappearance and a surprising relationship with Joe has Mona battling to keep her heart safe. And Joe is ready to walk away from his hometown if he can’t have Mona. It’s too hard to warm up to the difficult Mona, and Joe’s too laid-back persona makes it hard to care enough about the story.
