RANCHER AT RISK
RANCHER AT RISK (4) by Barbara White Daille: Ryan Malloy’s boss sends him to New Mexico to turn a ranch into a school for disadvantaged boys. Accusing Lianne Ward of not watching out for her daughter makes a poor first impression on the folks of Flagman’s Folly. Especially since the little girl is not Lianne’s daughter and both Lianne and the little girl are deaf. This is something Ryan Malloy doesn’t discover until after he finds out they will be working together. As the hero learns to accept not only the heroine’s limitations, but her ability to cope, their story beautifully illustrates the difficulty of being deaf in a hearing world.
