THE RANCHER'S INHERITED FAMILY
On the run with her half-siblings after their mother is murdered by her stepfather, Sarah Brownly has no one to turn to. Then Brad Logan comes along, offering shelter, food and support when Sarah returns home to see that justice is done. Hired as housekeeper to Brad's pregnant sister-in-law, Sarah gets the chance to become better acquainted with the handsome cowboy -- but he's made a promise to avoid getting involved with her until her stepfather's convicted. Judy Christenberry's The Rancher's Inherited Family (3) certainly has a degree of poignancy to the central situation. Sarah's quite sympathetic too, but she's also too perfect to be believable.
