THE RANCHER'S UNEXPECTED FAMILY
THE RANCHER’S UNEXPECTED FAMILY (3) by Myrna Mackenzie: Urban developer Kathryn Ellis returns to Larkville, Texas, as a pregnant divorcée searching for help to open a new medical clinic. Her long-lost crush, popular Holt Calhoun, has been recommended by the mayor as her go-to guy. Emotionally scarred by his ex-wife, Holt prefers staying busy, dodging the single women in town and running the Double Bar C ranch. As this cowboy and city girl try to share a business-only, platonic relationship and ignore the sparks between them, the early arrival of a baby puts that plan in jeopardy. It’s a sweet concept, but this slow-moving read lacks oomph.
