Patience Anderson turns to her ex-boyfriend, Jim Randall, for help rescuing her kidnapped son. He finds the boy with his crazed father, who has set himself up as a paramilitary leader. As Jim tries to protect Patience and her son, he also tries to convince her that he loves her and that she loves him. In RANDALL RENEGADE (1) by Judy Christenberry, the hero, the heroine and the Randall family are all too good to be true, making for thin characters and weak conflict.
