When an archaeology student turns up dead, a virile park ranger and fiery agent have a problem collaborating on the investigation because of their separate agendas, not to mention the explosive romantic chemistry they share that just might get one of them killed. Although THE RANGER AND THE WIDOW (2) by Lynn Erickson features appealing characters, a fast-paced story and an interesting backdrop, the various subplots are too intrusive and manage to obscure the development of the primary mystery and the characters romantic relationship.
