Sheriff Grason Spencer is after a gang of outlaws who crippled his fiance. He doesn't have time for shooting matches with Annie-Oakley-wanna-bes, no matter how skilled or beautiful they are.

Kasey Anderson needs the money from the shooting match to continue searching for her sister who was kidnapped by outlaws. She wins the match, much to Grason and the town's surprise, and heads out with Grason on her tail. Her resemblance to the lady outlaw who shot him is uncanny and he wants to know who Kasey really is.

The two reluctantly become partners after Grason promises to let Kasey's outlaw sister see their mother before taking her in. The tension between them sizzles, but first they must battle bounty hunters, Indians and more outlaws.

Ms. Skinner has written an action-packed, fast-paced adventure with a feisty heroine and a macho hero. Western fans will love this tale of courage, justice, loyalty and romance. SENSUAL (Sept., 350 pp., $5.99)
