Rayven Smith has just discovered an amazing truth about her past. As the heiress to the Aware empire, she was placed on Earth for protection from the villainous race that decimated her people. Now, Rayven must return to claim her place as Empress with one of the Awares's greatest heroes at her side.

A mighty warrior and leader, Draco is sent to recover his Empress. The handsome fighter becomes Rayven's tutor in the magic of the Awares and the ways of passion. Together they must do battle against a warlord who threatens their race with destruction.

Convoluted and cliché, RAYVEN'S AWAKENING more often than not resembles a low-budget B-movie. While Draco and Rayven continuously indulge in the pleasures of the flesh, neither character is fully fleshed-out, making it difficult to become engaged in their already flawed story. Although a high level of sensuality might be expected in this subgenre, the strong, sexually explicit language here bordered on the vulgar, which this reviewer failed to find romantic or erotic.
