A REAL LIVE HERO
A REAL LIVE HERO (4.5) by Kimberly Van Meter: To save her job, TV producer Delainey Clarke goes home to Homer, Alaska, to convince her ex-fiancé, search-and-rescue tracker Trace Sinclair, to take part in a pilot for a new reality series. Unfortunately, Trace hates Delainey for walking out on him eight years ago to pursue a television career in Los Angeles. What neither counts on is the extreme attraction they still feel for one another, and they’re soon right back where they started: in love and at odds over what to do about their respective careers. Van Meter’s skill with dialogue and plotting make A Real Live Hero a wonderful read. Interactions between Delainey and Trace sparkle, and the addition of Trace’s parents’ issues as a backstory adds nice depth to the plot.
