THE RED ROOM
by Ridley Pearson

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Thriller

RT Rating

Knox and Chu are back for more pulse-pounding adventure in the third installment of Pearson’s excellent Risk Agent series. This is a suspenseful thriller that borders on being a mystery, as the protagonists and the reader are left in the dark about what is really happening and the stakes involved. Hang on tight — things are about to get dangerous!

When John Knox is summoned into the top-secret Red Room at Rutherford Risk by his handler, Dulwich, John knows the assignment will be complicated, but he has no idea what he’s about to walk into. Given only sketchy information that is doled out on a need-to-know basis, John and forensic accountant Grace Chu enter Istanbul knowing only that they are supposed to set up a secret meeting for the purchase of a rare antiquity. It’s rapidly apparent that there is much more to this operation than they have been told, and given the Byzantine politics of the Middle East, it’s highly dangerous. (PUTNAM, Jun., 416 pp., $26.95)
