RT Rating

James returns with another exciting Rough Riders tale. She keeps each story in the series fresh and entertaining while handling some key issues. The McKay family is here in full force, but a rift exists that might pull them apart. Dalton is the last single McKay, but there’s another generation waiting in the wings, so who knows?

After Dalton McKay leaves his bride-to-be at the altar, he departs Sundance for the wilds of Montana. Three years later, his father’s stroke brings him back to Wyoming and the woman he truly loves. Aurora “Rory” Wetzler is having none of his sweet talkin’, even though Dalton is out to prove to her, and everyone else, he’s changed. Although Rory melts a little when he shares her interests, she has an agenda for her life that doesn’t include settling down in Sundance. Dalton launches an all-out attack to win Rory over both in and out of bed. When his business plans and her job take divergent paths, and his family gets involved, it spells trouble for their relationship. (SAMHAIN, May, 320 pp., $17.00)
