REDNECKS ‘N’ ROMANCE
by Judy Mays

Genre: Erotic Romance, Anthology

RT Rating

While it is agreed that cowboys are hot and vampires are hot, mixing the two may not be the best idea, at least in Mays’ double-novella offering. The writing is weighed down by needlessly expository dialogue and directionless, ambling plots with gaping holes.

In “Rednecks ‘n’ Roses,” Amber Blake moves into the country house left to her by a deceased aunt and discovers a cowboy vampire named Rusty Nipple sleeping in the bathtub. High jinks ensue. “Rednecks ‘n’ Rock Candy” follows Amber’s best friend Mandi as she struggles against her growing desire for Brad Keister, town sheriff and newly turned vampire. At the end of the second story readers will find a recipe for rock candy. (ELLORA'S CAVE, Oct. ‘09, 243 pp., $12.99)
