The fourth book in the Blackwater series takes the one-night stand pregnancy plot and mixes it with Rainey’s overarching story of five brothers who had a bad childhood. The romance and love scenes are steamy, but the rest of the story often stays right in the middle of the road: expected fights, storming off over little things and a predictable storyline with just as predictable an ending. Reilly is a desirable hero, but Lucy is often petulant and bratty.

Lucy Rice expected nothing more from her one-night stand with Reilly Jennings than a good time. When she discovers she’s pregnant two months later, she’s horrified, but determined to at least let him know he’s the father. Reilly, however, is equally determined to be the father he didn’t have growing up. He wants to be around Lucy constantly and be involved in every facet of her pregnancy, which is the last thing she wants. Or is it? (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $3.50)
