Wendy Thomas loved Paul Randall since she was 16. Finally, when she's a senior in high school, Paul's blinders come off and he can't help but notice her. Unfortunately, his insecurity snaps at his good judgment, and he tells himself he's not good enough to deserve the attention of this "angel."

This isn't your run-of-the-mill relationship; in fact, Wendy and Paul go through hellfire and back before they're ready to belong exclusively to each other. Separated for four long years while Wendy attends college, upon their reunion, the fate they face is a murky, mercurial one.

This book captivated me, hook, line and sinker. The storyline is compelling and I sensed a true connection between the author and her characters, who grow both in years and maturity within the read. I eagerly look forward to the next story in this series. (Oct., 260 pp., $14.95)
