RENEGADE ANGEL (4.5) by Kendra Leigh Castle: Having been run out of hell, fallen angel Raum, Destroyer of Dignities and Robber of Kings, is sent to Earth to protect half-fallen angel, half-human Ember Riddick and stop her from opening a gate to hell and letting the demons out. Ember, the daughter of fallen angel Mammon, looks to Raum for protection but they soon learn that Ember is more than capable of taking care of herself. Raum just has to keep her hidden from her father until the angel Uriel seals a weakness in the Earth. Castle creates a well-drawn mythology and mixes angels, demons, vampires, werewolves and other paranormals, making them all seem believable. In addition, Raum is the perfect depiction of a flawed, sexy hero.
