Molly McGuire arrives in Bountiful, Texas, to marry a man she doesn't know and to find her brother, Charlie. Kane Jackson doesn't know anything about a bride until the day she arrives; his conniving grandfather arranged the marriage.

Kane and Molly agree to a temporary "marriage" to appease his grandfather, but they must make it look real. They spend their honeymoon looking for Charlie, and Kane's resolve to keep away from Molly falters when they're caught in a storm and forced to find warmth together under the wagon.

Even after they locate Charlie, they continue to pretend for his grandfather's sake. In truth, they have fallen in love, but pride and anger keep them apart until they find a way to make their relationship work.

This delightful story features two headstrong, stubborn people fighting for and against each other. The result is a tender story. SENSUAL (Feb., 298 pp., $5.50)
