Image of Revelation (Seven Signs)

Hayes nicely weaves science and faith in this series opener. Despite, and perhaps because of, her past, Morgan is willing to throw herself into a hellish fight for the chance to save innocent lives. Full of fire and brimstone, Morgan and Lune risk everything for romance and redemption. Revelation perfectly sets up the next book, leaving the apocalypse hounding these haunted angels.

Dr. Morgan Sterling has a troubled past when it comes to faith. Her crisis of belief is further complicated when a mysterious man appears in her morgue, telling her that he’s an angel and the end of the world is closer than she thinks. Morgan joins Luniel in his quest, telling herself she’s looking for a cure to a threatening plague. She soon realizes that she can believe in this gorgeous man who promises to protect her from the horrific creatures attacking her city. Lune is willing to risk more than his life for Morgan, but it might come down to her making a leap of faith to save both their souls. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Oct., 336 pp., $7.99)
