RIGHT FROM THE START
RIGHT FROM THE START (4) by Jeanie London: To help a center for families with autistic children qualify for a grant, contractor and city official Will Russell asks divorce counselor Kenzie James for assistance. Kenzie is at first wary of the single father because she counseled his wife, who didn’t portray him in a positive light, during their divorce. But when she realizes he has an autistic child whom he takes sole care of — and who was a major factor in the divorce — she finally lets herself act on the attraction she’s been feeling all along. Both main characters’ feelings and motivations ring true in London’s novel, which deals quite realistically and sensitively with emotionally charged issues.
