After two bad marriages, Sue Ellen Carson is enjoying life in Florida, her job with the Department of Labor and a much younger hunk of a lover. When she's ordered to attend survival training run by Joe Goodwin of Air Force Special Tactics, she's furious. She rejected funding for his program to help delinquent youths find employment, and he got around her objections. But three weeks in the wilderness with the kids has Sue Ellen re-evaluating her life and the very masculine Joe. Risky Business (4.5) is another wonderful story by Merline Lovelace. Joe is a hero to die for, and Sue Ellen is a strong but fair heroine who's a perfect match. The youths and their mentors are clearly drawn and sympathetic but real. This book is impossible to put down.
