Kate Bradshaw needs to get the spring planting done, but with two small children and no one else available she doesn't know if she can. Drifter Hatcher Jones agrees to help out in exchange for food. Jones keeps to himself, fearing that his quick temper will get someone hurt like it did before. When the sheriff arrests him for stealing, Kate hires an attorney to defend him. Soon they realize they have feelings for each other but are dancing around them like two farm chickens. Set in Depression-era South Dakota, Linda Ford's The Road to Love (4) is a story with tenderness, forgiveness and redemption.
