When Olivia hears that her husband died while having sex with his mistress, comfort turns to passion with the messenger— Christian Rodrigues, her husband's cousin and deputy. She soon discovers that she is pregnant and flees to a small island. But Christian is a frequent visitor there and once he finds out she's expecting, he proposes. Olivia doesn't want to rush into another bad marriage, though. Anne Mather's THE RODRIGUES PREGNANCY (1) has an interesting storyline, but there is little to prompt readers to care about the characters or make them want to read more. The heroine is childish and the couple seem to share little chemistry, never mind true love.
