Sarah Kittling and her sisters barely have enough inheritance to live comfortably in Bath, so Sarah uses her creative talents to supplement their income by penning novels under her sister Aurelia's name. In her book A Rogue's Tale,
she fashions her hero, Lord Daventry,
after known rogue Lord Gaventry, who
pays a visit to Bath determined to take vengeance on the author. But Gaventry
is perplexed by the real Aurelia's simple character and ponders how it was she who penned this novel of his amorous exploits. While still set on revenge, Gaventry manages to fall for Sarah.
Sarah displays remarkable patience and kindness toward her sisters, especially when Gaventry becomes a part of their daily lives. A Rogue's Revenge (4.5)
by Valerie King is an enjoyable read, with a broad cast of entertaining characters. (May, 224 pp., $4.99)
