Rolling in the Deep includes paranormal aspects, like the ability to communicate with dolphins, summon sea creatures and the ability to breathe underwater, all of which are just a few examples of an exceptional new twist on Hawaiian lore. The use of authentic island language and lifestyle brings a touch of paradise to the page, although mainland readers might not be familiar with phrases like “da kine.” To the author I say “mahalo” for writing such an intense and provocative romance full of action and suspense.

The Ho’omalu family are warriors under the protection of Kanaloa and Pele, who watch over the Hawaiian islands. Daniel likes rough sex and has sworn off fragile haole women — until he meets Claire. She’s tougher than she looks and completely willing to take anything Daniel dishes out. A powerful lust and a suspenseful storyline reach a boiling point as Daniel and his family battle to keep drug smugglers from using the island to transport their supply, and Claire is caught in the middle.
