Carr chooses to hold off revealing that her heroine is BDSM-curious until after her hero has flirted with the admittedly paper-thin line between seduction and sexual misconduct, and this may make some readers uncomfortable. Still, the structure of this novella is intriguing, and the chemistry between the protagonists does spark.

Gwen Preston is a short-story writer whose recent erotica collection has piqued the interest of Ty Ransome, a famous action movie star who wants to use Preston's work to establish himself as a serious producer.
