Miss Penelope Jones interviews for a governess position with Mr. James Betterton, the cousin of a woman who is in need of one. At her appointment, Penny sees a painting that reminds her of dreams she's been having about the Silverthorne castle. James knows her dreams are eerily true, and what's worse, his cousin Allison is seeing ghosts. James hires Penny to see if sense can be made of the dreams and the visions.

An accomplished artist, Penny is able to draw her dreams from memory. She accompanies James to the castle to assist Allison.

This is quite a mystery, full of twists, turns and plot changes. Add to these dreams, ghosts and jewels, and you have one entertaining tale. (Jan., 224 pp., $4.99)
