Bruce's hero and heroine are likable, but the secondary characters appear only briefly. The sex is plentiful, but the suspense feels tacked on, since not much leads up to it.

Things between Jake Duquesne and detective Katarzyna Delaney get off to a bad start when he knocks her out and handcuffs her to his bed. After he verifies that she was sent to his family's cabin for some RandR by his cousin, they decide to stick it out together -- after all, the cabin has two bedrooms. Suddenly, it doesn't matter how many bedrooms there are because Katarzyna wants him to relieve her of her virginity. But danger is just around the corner, and they're about to get caught up in it.
