Book Review

RUNAWAY COWBOY
by Judy Christenberry

Genre: Series, Harlequin American Romance, Current Series Imprints

RT Rating

Judy Christenberry's latest is set on the Lazy L dude ranch, where quick-witted Jessie is working with her siblings to make the ranch profitable. Enter James, a city slicker who's all cowboy at heart. James has been hired by Jessie's grandfather
to take over management of the ranch, which fires up dormant family tensions. Just when things seem to be working out for the couple, James' ex-girlfriend arrives. Despite the vivid setting, Runaway Cowboy (3) is not the author's finest. Jessie's insecurities and James' overly authoritarian attitude make this pairing feel forced rather than a joining of two equals who respect each other.
