On the heels of last year’s Street Game, Feehan brings back Mack McKinley’s GhostWalker team for another round of treachery and peril. Interestingly, there is no serious conflict between the hero and heroine, but rather this is a story of their struggle to protect their unborn child. Per usual, the supporting cast of characters enriches the story and provide clues to future adventures. Excellent as always!

Upon escaping from Dr. Whitney’s lab, Rose Patterson went on the run to protect her unborn child. While she and Kane Cannon were both under Dr. Whitney’s control, they were genetically paired and forced to reproduce. During a hostage rescue operation in Mexico with his GhostWalker team, Kane senses that Rose is also in the compound. During the battle, Kane and Rose are separated from the team and must make their own way to safety. Rose is eight months pregnant and not inclined to trust anyone — except maybe Kane. With Whitney tracking them and obsessed with obtaining their child, Kane and Rose will need all their skills to stay one step ahead. (JOVE, Jan., 416 pp., $7.99)
