Government agent Scott Armstrong is bitter because he thinks he's being put out to pasture after an injury. He's not excited about being sent to Canada's Pacific Northwest to investigate Dr. Skye Van Rijn, an entomologist suspected of bioterrorism. But everything about Skye is unexpected, from her exotic beauty to her motorcycle-riding. Skye has deadly secrets and knows right away that Scott is trouble. Can they work together to find out what's really happening? Safe Passage (4.5) by Loreth Anne White is wonderful. Scott and Skye are wounded by complicated pasts, and both are compelling. The sexual attraction blazes, and the action is nonstop.
