by Elizabeth Adler

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Traditional

RT Rating

After a disastrous divorce, Daisy Keane leaves Chicago for London, where she meets Sir Robert Hardwick, who offers her a job as the manager of his estate
in Yorkshire. The two become best of friends, and Daisy is saddened when
Bob suddenly dies in a car accident.

Harry Montana, an American private investigator, arrives at Bob's funeral and reads Daisy a note that Bob left behind in the event of his death. At Bob's request, Daisy and Harry host a cruise aboard Bob's yacht, from Monte Carlo to Capri, for the reading of his will. Bob has requested that Daisy invite six persons for the all-expenses-paid cruise, six suspects in his death. On the cruise, with all six suspects aboard, Daisy and Harry engage in a romantic tryst and attempt to solve the mystery behind Bob's murder.

Shimmering and original, Adler's latest is a delightful read, pairing the beauty of the Mediterranean with the intrigue of an expertly plotted mystery. Daisy and Harry make a wonderful pair. (Jul., 384 pp., $24.95)
