Once again Robins' fascinating world, where paranormal creatures live secretly side by side with mortals, comes to life. This second in the After Sundown series can stand alone, but it includes many characters from the previous story. While most are interesting, the hero comes across as self-centered and egotistical, with no real concern for the heroine's feelings. Also, the main characters' constant vacillating over not giving in to the love they feel gets old quickly. Though the plot is solid, the ending is a bit of a letdown.

Eric is an immortal dragon slayer and a security expert employed by Sundown Security. He's assigned to protect Sabrina from a stalker. Sabrina is exceptionally angry when she discovers the man who left her after she professed her love for him two years ago is now in charge of her safety.

Still, he's the best man for the job, even after he discovers the secret about Sabrina that she never wanted to share -- and even more so when he discovers her stalker is a man from his past, someone he knew well. (Cerridwenpress.com, dl $7.99)
