Cecilia Dupree is living with her teenage daughter and widowed mother, separated from her husband of 19 years. She feels like everyone is moving forward but her. Soon her reading group leads to unexpected trouble, her daughter is out of control and her mother is misbehaving. Can she find happiness with a younger lawyer, or is this just one more area of her life that's out of control? Using day-planner lists, e-mails, letters and first-person narrative, Sandwiched (4.5) by Jennifer Archer is a wonderful, humorous story. A possibly clichéd premise is elevated by clear, interesting characters, unexpected twists and laugh-out-loud scenes.
