SAVAGE BETRAYAL
by Shelli Stevens

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

2013 Shapeshifter Romance Nominee

RT Rating

The second in Stevens’ Savage series is a cracking good blend of suspenseful mystery and steamy romance that delivers on all levels. Her heroine is sensationally complicated and admirably strong, and the chemistry between her and her marvelously conflicted, stalwart hero is irresistible. All readers will be able to leap into the plot, as Stevens uses characters’ memories of past events to build tension in the present, heightening the sinister atmosphere of the mystery and raising the stakes of the romance in one fell swoop.

Shifter Grace Masterson is still dealing with the repercussions of a past trauma and hesitant to return to work, until she learns that a fellow agent has died under mysterious circumstances. Grace is determined to discover the truth, but agent Darrius Hilliard is equally determined to be there for Grace. Darrius can’t explain the simmering desire and emotion pulsing between them. As it becomes evident that someone wants to silence Grace forever, Darrius will go to any lengths to protect her. (SAMHAIN, Oct., 302 pp., $15.00)
