After attorney Emma Montgomery is shot during
a trial, police officer Rick Downing refuses to let her become a shadow of her former self over the traumatic incident. He drags her back to the land of the living by pushing her to work on the murder case of a young girl he believes is innocent. To Save a Family (4.5), by Anna DeStefano, is realistic and well written. Emma's reaction to being shot is spot on, and Rick is a romantic interest any woman would love to have. This is an excellent read.
