Daley’s new series, Men of the Texas Rangers, gets off to a strong start. Suspense, along with unexpected plot twists and turns, drives the story and will keep readers thoroughly engaged. Themes of overcoming fears and barriers combine to remind us that, with God, anything is possible.

Texas Ranger Wyatt Sheridan meets Kate Winslow while trying to identify a murdered teenage girl. Kate runs Beacon of Hope, a nonprofit program designed to help teenage girls get off the street and make a fresh start. Things hit close to home for Wyatt, as his daughter is a almost the same age as the victim. As events unfold, Kate and Wyatt realize how dire the situation is. Wyatt must rely on his faith to help him take down the trafficking ring and save those he loves. (ABINGDON, Mar., 336 pp., $14.99)
