SCANDAL
by Pamela Britton

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: 1819 England

RT Rating

In order to inherit his uncle's fortune, Rein Montgomery, the new Duke of Wroxly, must live penniless on the streets of London's slums for a month. Lucky for him he finds kindhearted Anna Rose Brooks.

Anna works as a market girl to keep
her eccentric inventor uncle and herself in bread and butter. She's stunned to find
a handsome, charming and obviously wealthy man wandering the dangerous streets of St. Giles. She offers him a place
to stay for a night, but Rein stays longer.

Anna cannot be "just friends" with Rein. When he asks, she agrees to be his mistress, though she knows he will leave
after 30 days. But someone is out to
make sure Rein doesn't live long enough
to fulfill his challenge.

Sexy, lively, and irresistible, Britton's
latest is reminiscent of the Mel Brooks movie Life Stinks and just as endearing, poignant and amusing. Britton strikes
gold, taking readers on a roller-coaster
ride that brings a smile and a tear. VERY SENSUAL (Jul., 333 pp., $5.99)
