THE SCANDAL AND CARTER O’NEILL (4) by Molly O’Keefe: Deputy Mayor Carter O’Neill has everything under control for his upcoming mayoral race until Zoe Madison accuses him of being the father of her unborn child. Carter discovers that his mother is behind the accusation, and even though he knows he’s not guilty, he must play along if he has any hope of salvaging his future candidacy. O’Keefe combines fun characters with a slightly unlikely scenario and yet manages to make it all entertaining and believable. The author also does an excellent job of depicting the sexual tension between Carter and Zoe.
