Alexander entertains and delights readers with endearing characters and engaging love stories. This latest offering is a deliciously pure romance — the kind of story that makes you believe in the joy of love as you smile and sigh at the end.

Lady Delilah Hargate is a virtuous widow ready to attend her sister’s wedding. She once allowed herself a little adventure with American Samuel Russell, and what a night that was! When Sam arrives to attend his friend’s wedding, it seems prudent he and Delilah act as if they were strangers. That becomes increasingly difficult when they are constantly thrown together at pre-wedding functions. Then Sam discovers Delilah is hunting for a husband. Can he show her that she need look no further? Will Delilah be Sam’s undoing, or will she succumb to temptation as wedding bells ring? (ZEBRA, May, 390 pp., $7.99)
