Homicide detective Marti MacAlister and partner Matthew Vik Jessenovik are working on one of their toughest cases. An arsonist is on the loose, creating terror with firebombs. At the last fire, a body was discovered, and Marti and Vik were called in.

It takes a while to identify the corpse but when the identification is done, Marti and Vik have their work cut out for them. They cannot figure out why the victim was in the building to begin with, but they know that in order to get to the bottom of things, they will have to identify the arsonist.

In the meantime, a con artist is preying on the fears of the elderly, and a dangerous pattern emerges, one that may lead to a connection between Marti and Viks case!

With its multiple storylines and exciting plot devices, SCREAM IN SILENCE is a highly suspenseful read. Ms. Bland tells her tale with great warmth and the reader not only gets caught up in the mystery but also with the personal lives of Marti and Vik, making them as real to us as our own neighbors.
