A SECOND CHANCE
Nearly two years into his probationary sentence for conspiring with criminals to take the Hotel Marchand from his cousins, Luc Carter is running a BandB in tiny Indigo, La. Life is good, especially once he acts on his attraction for baker Loretta Castille. A single mom, Loretta has been alone since her ex-husband died in prison, and Luc knows her views on lawbreakers -- so he hides his past. It becomes difficult as they work together to plan a festival. Not that Loretta expects Luc to stay. She knows he'll leave when the renovations on his business are done. Kara Lennox's A Second Chance (3) is a pleasant book with a fairly solid conflict and some fun moments involving the Marchands' grandmother, Celeste. Otherwise, the best character by far is Loretta's feisty, strong-willed daughter.
