SECOND CHANCE FAMILY
SECOND CHANCE FAMILY (4) by Winnie Griggs: Texas, 1893: Cora Beth Collins can’t stop herself from helping others, so when Sheriff Mitchell Hammond knocks on her door with a scruffy- looking boy, she takes the boy in, later learning that the boy has a sick younger sister. When the town council informs Cora they believe the children would be better served if they were placed in a home with both a mother and father, she and Mitchell decide they will be the parents and plan to get married. I liked this story from the start. The characters are strong willed and their hearts are in the right place.
