Despite the ancient bad blood between Raul Mandoza's Spanish ancestors and the native American population who suffered under their cruelty, Irene Pobikan, a talented Tewa Indian Architect is hired by Raul Mendoza to restore his family's historic hacienda, Casa De Encanto.

But from Irene's very first day on the job, it becomes apparent that someone or something is doing their best to sabotage the project. In order to complete her contract on time, and stay alive in the process, Irene must turn to her guardian spirit, the cougar, for protection.

SECOND SHADOW is an insightful, suspenseful and fascinating tale highlighting both the cultural differences between people, and the basic tenets of human nature which make us all similar. A thoroughly engaging read!
