Following a bitter divorce, American ad executive Faye O'Neill moves to London with her 8-year-old daughter, Maddie, and 6-year-old son, Tom. Faye can't believe her luck when she first sees the charming flat she has rented in what used to be a single-family home. Faye and her children will share the large house with an American physicist, Dr. Jack Graham, and the elderly owner of the building, Mrs. Wendy Forrester, who is known to the locals as Crazy Wendy.

Mrs. Forrester, who has a habit of talking to the stars, is convinced that she is Peter Pans Wendy. Faye soon finds herself growing fond of the eccentric woman, and the kids are charmed by her. Jack Graham discovers that his new building mates are quite fascinating, especially the beautiful Faye. Unfortunately, Mrs. Forresters stuffy daughter plans to sell the building, threatening to destroy the transplanted Americans newfound happiness and Wendys peace of mind.

For all those who love Sir James Barries classic tale, Ms. Kruesi provides a sparkling new twist that is guaranteed to delight and charm. (May, 384pp., $5.99)
