THE SECRET INGREDIENT (4) by Nina Harrington: Bad-boy celebrity chef Rob Beresford fired pastry chef Lottie Rosemount from her first catering job. The two cross paths three years later at an art exhibit. In exchange for Lottie rescuing Rob’s artist-mother from a scandalous exit, he agrees to be the celebrity replacement at a charity event she’s running. Lottie sees beneath Rob’s flashy façade, but will she risk her heart when he makes it clear that all he has to offer is a no-strings fling? The hero, though flawed, has enough redeeming features to make a spunky Lottie his perfect match. The plot may be predictable, but the story’s execution is skillfully done and satisfying.
