Readers unfamiliar with DeStefano’s Dark Legacy are encouraged to start there. Although competently written, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of character development here. The big mystery surrounding the plot is satisfyingly dark, but somewhat of a slog to get to, as preceding chapters tend to repeat the same conflicts and trust issues between characters.

Sarah Temple has just awakened from a coma, where she was put by the secret organization experimenting on her psychic ability. But now she’s having nightmares about a lost little girl who appears to be able to manipulate dreams. Is the girl real? Or is she a remnant of the covert operation aimed at luring her back? To solve the mystery Sarah must again put her trust in the man who saved her life once before — and broke her heart. (DORCHESTERPUB.COM)
