SECRET LIFE OF A VAMPIRE
by Kerrelyn Sparks

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy
Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

In this wonderful addition to Sparks' vampire stories, the hero is not perfect, yet he fits the heroine, who is strong enough to stand up for herself. The solution to the mystery is surprising and adds a nice twist to this fast-moving tale.

As the son of Casanova, Giacomo de Venezia, aka Jack, should have no problem romancing women, but he doesn't seem to have inherited his father's suaveness. When a bachelor party he's at attracts the attention of the police, he meets Officer Lara Boucher, an attractive mortal he finds cannot be controlled with vampire powers.

When Lara gets involved in the investigation of a missing college girl, her prime suspect is Jack, but soon they're working together to solve what's apparently a series of disappearances. (AVON, Apr., 384 pp., $7.99)

Secret Life of a Vampire

Jack is throwing a bachelor party for his vamp friends when the police arrive because of noise complaints.  When Jack discovers that he cannot wipe the memories of Office Lara Boucher, he becomes intrigued.  Lara doesn't know what is going on, but she knows there is something different about this guy.  When Jack teleports and saves her from a bad situation, she believes he may be an alien or a super hero.  Jack knows he is falling in love with Lara, but is afraid to tell her he is a vampire.

This is the 6th book in Sparks' Love at Stake series.  It was enjoyable, but there wasn't anything new in this book.  My rating:  4 Stars.
