Clark’s latest novel is a fascinating mystery, combining intriguing facts about WWII and the Holocaust with a modern-day suspense tale. The faith and romantic elements are not integrated as well as they could have been, and the ending is a bit too convenient. But overall, the plot will keep readers involved and interested enough to find out how the pieces fit together.

Sienna Collins inherited some property from her grandfather which she turned into a bed and breakfast in Lancaster County, Penn. She’s been an absentee owner for years, yet when she receives a mysterious phone call from her ex-boyfriend Troy at the inn, Sienna rushes out to find out what is happening. She discovers Troy dead, and the more she uncovers about what is going on, the more in danger she becomes. (HARVEST HOUSE, Oct., 352 pp., $13.99)
