Quinn again displays her talents in an engrossing story brimming with atmosphere and passionate characters whose emotions run as deep as their senses of honor. These hallmarks combine to reach out and grab readers, who will dub this book a true keeper.

Reputed rogue Tristan MacGregor is attending the Duke of York’s coronation when he rescues damsel in distress Isobel Fergusson. He steals a kiss and spends time with her, but later Isobel discovers her savior is a MacGregor. She has mixed feelings: the MacGregors killed her father and the clans have long been bitter enemies.

Upon returning home Isobel misses Tristan and realizes she has fallen in love. Tristan, who believes that children should not suffer for the sins of their parents, feels the same. He brings Isobel and her brothers to his family home to announce his intention to marry her. The unexpected revelations by members of both families result in a surprisingly uplifting and delightful climax. (FOREVER, Sep., 384 pp., $6.99)
